At LogHaven, our beautiful 3500 square foot home is "off-grid"; we are not connected to commercial power. We have all the electrical appliances one would expect: dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer,  surround sound, even satellite tv, and we don't get an electric bill!

Many people have asked about how all this works: what, where, when, why, how.  In order to answer these questions, we conduct a seminar, "A Basic Introduction to Alternative Energy", at our home on the first Friday of every month. 

The seminar covers all the basics of alternative energy: solar, wind, hydro, batteries, inverters, vendors, resources, government incentives, and includes a student workbook and an on-site inspection of our wind system, batteries and inverter.  The seminar lasts all day, from 9AM to 5PM, and lunch is served.

The fee is $135 per person; a 4 week advance registration and payment is required.

This is where beginners and dreamers should start!  Alternative energy is here, and alternative energy can be understood and used by the average layman.
